Driver CPC

Developed around EU directive 2003/59, driver CPC training is a scheme designed to improve the knowledge and skills of LGV and PCV drivers throughout their career.

We train delegates in the initial introductory training that qualifies drivers with their Certificate of Professional Competence; a legal requirement on professional drivers of any vehicle over 3.5 tonnes throughout Europe. Covering legislated essentials on driving techniques, legislation and safety we have over a decade of experience preparing drivers for working on the road.

On successful completion of the training course, LGV and PCV qualified drivers will have all the training they require to working professionally anywhere around Europe.

Driver CPC training course content
  • The CPC training covers 5 modules
  • Each module is based on a 7 hour session
  • There are three mandatory modules;
    • Safe and fuel efficient driving
    • Regulations including Tacho and Digitach
    • Health and safety service and logistics
  • Two further optional modules must also be taken
  • One module can be bespoke designed for company requirements
  • ITSSAR theory and practical assessment

Module C5 has various options as listed below (Bespoke Training)

First Aid Training (Recommended)
Forklift Refresher (Counterbalance, Reach, Truck Mounted etc)
Lorry Loader Refresher
Plant Refresher
Manual Handling

Countdown to Compulsory CPC

From 10th Sptember 2009 all commercial LGV drivers will need to complete 35 hours of training before 9th September 2014, of which there are

928 days remaining to qualify.
